Creating & Managing Events¶
[Draft — pending review]
Events are managed from the admin area, where you can view all events defined for your organisation and create new ones.
Tip
If you are setting up your first event, you will need to create the event before you can start adding people, meetings, or any other data. Everything in Ordinate is linked to an event.
Viewing Events¶
The event management interface shows a list of all events on your tenant, including past, current, and future events. From here you can select any event to view or edit its details.
Creating a New Event¶
To create a new event, you will need to provide at a minimum:
- Event Name — the full name of the event
- Event Name (abbreviated) — a short code used in compact displays (e.g. "FIAS25")
- Venue Name and Country
- Start Date and Duration (in days)
Additional settings such as calendar integration and time restrictions can be configured after creation (see Event Settings).
Copying an Event¶
When setting up a recurring or similar event, you can copy an existing event as a starting point. This saves time by carrying forward settings, location configurations, and other structural data — while giving you a fresh event with no people or meeting data.
Info
Copying an event duplicates the event's settings and structure, not its operational data. People, meetings, and other event-specific records are not copied.
Event Logo¶
Each event can have its own logo, which appears on the dashboard and in the event switcher. This helps users quickly identify which event they are working in, particularly when managing multiple events.
