Switching Events

You can switch between events at any time within Ordinate. When you switch, the application reloads with the new event's settings, permissions, and data.

How to Switch Events

In the web application, there are three ways to switch:

  1. Click the current event name in the header bar
  2. Click the event logo on the dashboard
  3. Go to Settings > Choose Event

In the native mobile app:

  • Open Settings and tap Choose Event

All of these open the event switcher popup.

The Event Switcher

The event switcher displays a list of events you have access to, shown as cards with the event icon, name, and dates. Your current active event is highlighted.

  • By default, only current and future events are shown, in ascending date order
  • If your current active event is in the past, it will also be included in the list
  • Use the Show past events toggle to see all previous events as well

Select any event card to switch to it.

Automatic Event Prompt on Login

When you log in, Ordinate may automatically prompt you to choose an event. This happens if:

  • Your active event is in the past and a future event is available
  • You have more than one future event available within the next two months
  • You currently have no active event set

Switching events reloads the entire application. Your role and permissions may be different for each event, and any cached data is refreshed.
